{ Actionscript 3.0 / Graduate Work / December 2008 }

This was the final project for an Graduate level Actionscript class I was taking in Fall 2008.  The game was designed to make use of the normally static gaming environment players are used to (constant controls and stable world).  This project was built over the course of four (4) weeks, but only ~5 hours were put into creating the game.

This was posted to Newgrounds.com after my final class and has scored 8/10 on the reviews but only 2.6/5 on the votes.  A large portion of suggestions from players include: needs sound/music, more map variety, less challenging starting levels, and additional changes to the environment.

Maybe in a few months, I’ll come back to this and make some changes.  But for now, I’ll leave it where it is.

History

  • 3 December 2008 – Final class release.  Handed project in.
  • 30 November 2008 – Released a beta to Twitter and Facebook friends.

Instructions

Use the arrow keys to control the bouncy ball. Navigate the ball up the platforms to reach the red square before time runs out. If you run out of time, you lose a life.  You have two (2) lives before game over.

The controls will change, but they will always be using the arrow keys.  Watch the lower-right of the screen for the current controls.
